Ideal Vending Telemetry

In line with all of our major contacts we would use state of the art telemetry hardware installed within our vending equipment to manage all aspects of the operation of the contract.

How it works:

•View sales information

•Reconcile cash to sales

•Know which machines to visit and with what stock

•Monitor machine reliability & performance

•Productivity, efficiency & cost reduction benefits.

The benefits  of using this state of the art system to operate the contract are;

  • Verifiable and detailed Royalty data can be supplied by the system.
  • Visits to machines can be targeted to only those that require attention.
  • Multiple cashless payment options including CCC and NFC can be simply added by a software change to the installed hardware.

Ideal Services have been at the very forefront of deploying new vending machine technology since the business was formed over thirteen years ago.

We have worked with our telemetry supplier to develop this unique solution in the marketplace for over seven years and have used it since then to wholly operate a national contract with a major UK Dairy with sixteen depots spread throughout the country from Aberdeen to Bridgwater in Somerset.

In a telemetry managed vending environment each vending machine is installed with a small GPRS enabled device which constantly monitors the sales and status of the machine. The unit can be programmed to call into the central server at pre-determined intervals to download sales data etc and the system is updated with this information to give a constant real time status of the fill levels of every machine.

Naturally this information is of little use unless the Operators can constantly access the system which is achieved by the use of Blackberry units with which our staff can routinely access the information. In addition each handset is installed with our Vending Management software which is used to instantly notify staff of equipment breakdowns and allows them in return to advise us as soon as any notified issues have been resolved.

The data supplied by the system can be collated to help structure detailed royalty payments to the client and in line with the requirements set out in the tender document would allow us to offer royalties by product and supply data from the system to support these payments…………….something that is absolutely impossible without this technology.

We will provide you with information gathered via our telemetry units, showing actual sales data broken down by product by machine.
This system is second to none in the market place, Ideal Services, in partnership with our telemetry supplier, was the first Vending Operator in the UK to use this state of the art system to run the business, we have and will continue to invest large sums of money on this state of the art vending technology as we firmly believe that large, complex contracts, such as Aberdeen University simply cannot be operated efficiently and effectively in this modern age without it.

The system allows for our staff to quickly identify and respond to localised surges in demand on machines to re-fill them and reduce visit frequencies to machines where demand temporarily falls, ensuring we optimise the efficiency of the operators servicing the contract. Traditional route based Vending operating methods simply cannot respond to fluctuations in demand that occur within most sites as effectively.

All compatible machines that we will install within any new contract  will be fitted with this state of the art Telemetry system.
The system gives us hourly sales data from of each machine, and will allow us to provide an open book Royalty policy for our customers.

Additional notable features of our telemetry enabled equipment (dependant on the capability of each machine’s VMC) are;

Low Change Warning

Each unit can be set to trigger an alarm when the machine it is fitted to enters a low change state. This alarm is then automatically e-mailed to the Operator’s Blackberry enabling him/her to visit the machine and replenish the float within the coin mechanism.

Machine Breakdowns

As with the above feature the unit can be set to trigger and alarm when the machine enters an out of service condition i.e. jammed or become inoperable. Again this alarm would be routed automatically to the operator responsible (copied to the Operations Manager) to enable the fault to be attended to.

We believe our telemetry system offers the best all round solution to any new Vending Contract and feel that a complex multi sited contract , with significant variations in demand simply cannot be operated effectively without employing this 21st century technology.
